A joke with a police uniform turned into a criminal case for the girls

A group of women who decided to congratulate their friend on the holiday in an unusual way are now in danger of being punished for their actions. As it became known, they bought a police uniform at the local market to create an original surprise. However, their joke caused serious consequences.

In the city of Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region, five girls dressed up in police uniforms to wish a friend a happy birthday, after which they posted a corresponding video on the network. Now they face a fine of 17-34 thousand hryvnias. This is stated in the story of the "We — Ukraine" channel as part of the telethon.

Victoria Linnyk, whose birthday celebration was caught on video, told reporters that the greeting was a surprise for her. She was on her way to work, when on the way from Zaporozhye to Vilniansk, she was stopped by "policemen", who turned out to be her friends in disguise. In the footage published on the network, you can see women in police uniforms dancing and waving batons at drivers.

"I will say one thing, it was a joke," said the birthday girl.

According to Victoria, her friends bought the uniform at one of the markets in Zaporizhzhia. Journalists visited the market, noting that it really sells police paraphernalia — pants, jackets, and chevrons. The uniform bought for the holiday was seized by the police as material evidence.

"Civilians used the uniforms of police officers to wish their acquaintance a happy birthday. They are threatened with fines," said Oleksandr Gordienko, the head of the Vilnius district police department.

According to the journalists, the participants of the draw face a fine in the amount of 17-34 thousand hryvnias. The protocol was not drawn up for the birthday girl, as she did not wear the uniform. For her part, Victoria announced her intention to meet with a lawyer and sue the police officers. According to the woman, she was summoned for questioning, fingerprints were taken and photographs were taken.

Lawyer Dmytro Maistro emphasized that the other participants of the holiday were prosecuted legally. He emphasized that if a citizen who is not a police officer uses the uniform, signs or chevrons of the police, responsibility is provided for this.
