StopKor journalists conducted a large-scale investigation that brings to the surface a complicated but extremely disturbing story of political influence, offshore fraud, and possible cover-up of raider schemes through volunteerism. At the center of this story is MP Borys Prykhodko, his family, and those connected to him.
It all started with a supposedly ordinary trip abroad. In April 2023, two people leave through the Hrushiv checkpoint: the son of a people's deputy, Daniil Prykhodko, and offshore broker Oleksiy Bahriy. The goal is a humanitarian mission. But only Daniil returns. Bahriy disappears without a trace.
As journalists found out, Bahriy's escape was organized through the NGO "Protection of Peasants", associated with the assistant of the regional council deputy - an associate of Prykhodko. The volunteer transport on which the offshore worker left the country was registered in his mother's name. The NGO is registered directly in the premises of the district court.
Who is Bagriy and why is his disappearance not accidental?
Oleksiy Bahriy is involved in the conflict surrounding the agricultural giant Agrodim, owned by the late Valery Davydenko. After his mysterious death, a fight began over the assets. Among the structures that claimed the business was an offshore company from the UAE, which is linked to Bahriy. Davydenko's family accused unknown individuals of attempted raider capture, pressure, and now - the escape of an important figure.
But that's not all. StopKor discovered that the structure that organized Bagry's departure is part of a much broader scheme. At its center is Borys Prykhodko and his family. His declarations include millions in profits, dozens of land plots, shell companies, offshore companies, and numerous connections with agricultural companies with problematic legal histories.
This story has it all: volunteerism used to escape; an NGO connected to the judicial system; offshore attempts to seize control of a member of parliament's inheritance; and an influential politician who, for now, stands aside calmly and with impunity.
