The Kremenets District Court sentenced to 10 years in prison, a 38-year-old resident of Kremenchyna Pavel Obolonchyk, who organized a fake meeting on social networks allegedly for the treatment of wounded military. The sentence was issued on July 10, 2025.
According to the investigation, in 2022 the man decided to earn fraud: he created on Facebook posts with touching photos of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces and false medical documents, urging Ukrainians to send money for help. To do this, he used bank cards of his cohabitant and acquaintances. The ad has spread in popular social network groups. In a few months, the fraudster raised over UAH 66 thousand.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers found that three Facebook accounts were registered on his mobile phone through which fake fees were published. Photos of wounded, medical certificates and cards numbers were found in the applications. Despite being in the pre -trial detention center, the accused had access to the phone and the Internet.
In court, Obolonik did not admit guilty, stating that it was all the fictional cohabitants of the cohabitant, which allegedly acted at the instructions of the police. However, the evidence of the prosecution convinced the court in the opposite. Moreover, the man had no convictions, including a 2024 large -scale sentence. In view of the relapse, he was assigned a final punishment - 10 years in prison.
The judgment may still be appealed to the appeal.
