The head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko, expressed the opinion that lowering the mobilization age could become a "real scenario" in light of the current situation in the country. This statement caused lively discussions among military experts, politicians and the public.
"If we find ourselves in a situation where we really have nowhere to draw additional resources for the defense of our country, then lowering the mobilization age is a very real scenario of the development of events. We will have to very sharply mobilize citizens who fall under the lowering of the mobilization age," said Tymochko.
He believes that if it is possible to close corruption loopholes for evasion of the draft, then lowering the age of mobilization will be avoided.
Earlier, OP reported that the States are putting pressure on Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 years (now in Ukraine, the minimum age for mobilization is 25 years).
Recently, there has also been a discussion about the perspective of women's mobilization.
