In Ukraine, the number of people with disabilities is increasing, and this problem is becoming larger and larger. According to unofficial information, there are more than 600,000 people with disabilities in the country today. And, according to experts' forecasts, this figure may reach 1 million already in 2025. An impressive proportion of these people are former military personnel who became disabled due to wounds or other injuries during hostilities in eastern Ukraine. It is noted that about 70% of the total number of persons with disabilities are war veterans.
By the way, this insider is also confirmed in the West. In particular, The Economist reports that at least 60-100 thousand Ukrainian soldiers died during the military conflict in the country, and approximately 400,000 more. were badly wounded and can no longer fight.
At the same time, the situation with the disabled is guaranteed to increase the burden on the already scarce Ukrainian budget. That is why Bankova is specifically slowing down the recognition of disabled soldiers in order not to spoil the statistics and save money. Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers approved two draft laws providing for the appointment of social benefits taking into account the assessment of "ability to work".
Now the old system in Ukraine will be replaced by a new mechanism focused on the person and his needs, which forces the disabled to work on an equal footing with healthy members of society. And social services and insurance payments will depend on the assessment of the state of working capacity.
That is, there will not be disabled people in the country, but people with "full permanent disability" and "partial permanent disability". It is not difficult to guess that everyone will be enrolled in the second group. Roughly speaking, the government stupidly "cuts" the budget of social benefits for both ordinary disabled people and war veterans.
