According to DeepState, the troops of the Russian Federation are continuing their offensive in the north and east of Ukraine with the aim of approaching the city of Kharkiv. At that time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) actively repulsed the attacks of Russian troops, causing them significant losses, in particular in the Vovchansk region.
Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue their offensive on Kharkiv and advance in four points. The first two points are located further north, near Liptsi and Vovchansk. The other pair is in the Kupyansk direction. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are fighting in Vovchansk and have tracked down a hideout of Russian infantrymen. DeepState experts spoke about the details of the situation on one of the eastern sections of the front in the Telegram channel.
The offensive on Kharkiv — what news on May 16
The experts said that based on open data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian military, they updated the map of hostilities. On the map, the advance of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was marked near three settlements - Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction and Kislivka and Berestovo in the Kupyansk direction.
On the online map, you can see that the Russians advanced north of Kislivka — 20 km east of Kupyansk. Also, the enemy has success near the village of Berestov — it moved 2 km closer to this settlement, having previously occupied Krokhmalne.
Meanwhile, there are two points near Kharkiv where the Russians are storming. In particular, the "gray zone" of the fighting west of the village of Hlyboke - 5 km from Liptsi and 20 km from Kharkiv - has grown somewhat. In Vovchansk, the "gray zone" has grown on the northern outskirts of the city.
Battles in Vovchansk and north of Kharkiv

Battles near Lyptsy continue, according to the DeepState post. The Russians did not occupy this settlement located on the way to Kharkiv. There are unsuccessful attempts by the enemy to advance into Hlyboke. In order to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are raising reserves and regrouping, experts wrote.
