At the exhibition in Paris, KNDS presented a new unmanned aerial vehicle Colibri, which will soon be sent to the Ukrainian army. This drone is considered the latest model of military equipment and has wide capabilities for various military missions.
Colibri is a new technology designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the French Armed Forces. Manufacturers began work on the drone in May 2022. It can detect and neutralize targets within a radius of 5 kilometers.
The UAV is also equipped with a guided fragmentation charge, which provides high lethality against both static and dynamic targets. In early 2024, the President of Ukraine instructed to create a new military structure – the Unmanned Systems Forces. The Ministry of Defense explained that the new branch of the military is necessary to increase efficiency and adapt to modern combat conditions.
