The German edition of BILD has published alarming information about the situation on the front in Ukraine. According to the journalists, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) may find themselves in a critical situation and fall into an operational “cauldron” near Toretsk in the Donetsk region. This happened against the backdrop of an active offensive by Russian occupation forces in this region.
This is reported by BILD analyst Julian Röpke.
It is noted that to the southwest of the city, Russian troops failed to break through the fortifications of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which were built by February 2022. However, now the occupiers are attacking Toretsk from the west - through Zalizne and Pivtsynche, as well as from the south - through the village of New York.
As a result of these Russian offensives, a salient has formed in Ukrainian positions. Analysts have depicted it highlighted in blue on the combat map.
“The Russians are trying to create a kind of cauldron there. This means that the Ukrainians have to retreat if they fail to retake the residential areas of New York. Otherwise, they are completely surrounded there, which they do not want. Therefore, most likely, they will leave there soon,” says Julian Röpke.
