The situation in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces continue offensive operations, is gathering new momentum. According to both Ukrainian and Russian military telegram channels, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are adapting their strategy, focusing their efforts on the flanks of their Kursk bridgehead.
These are territories located near the Ukrainian border. At the same time, the intensity of attacks in the northern direction, i.e. deep into Russian territory, according to the Russian public, is decreasing.
On the western flank, Ukrainian military officials today confirmed the occupation of the village of Raptove south of Korenevoy, although information about this appeared a few days ago. Russian telegram channels write about the probable loss of the neighboring village of Byakhove.
Also yesterday, the Russian public wrote massively about the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Glushkiv district, which is located even further west - south of Rylsk.
Russian military analysts believe that the Ukrainian army seeks to take control of this area in order to expand the zone of control in the border areas. In addition, this is an attempt to secure the flanks and rear of the Kursk bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from a possible counterattack by the Russian army from the Glushkiv district to the south and southeast in the direction of Sumy and Mogrytsia, Sumy region.
On the eastern flank, the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the village of Borky, Ukrainian media reports and show photos (map 2). It is on the approaches to the Bilovskyi district, which has been stormed by the Armed Forces for more than a day. There, as the Russian Federation announced yesterday, Ukrainian units were pushed back from the village of Krupets.
Changes in the Suzhi and Korenevoy districts have not yet been reported. Russian attempts to stop the penetration of Ukrainian DRGs are moving in the direction of Lhovo. Judging by the videos that are increasingly appearing from there, Suja is under the control of Ukraine. At the same time, Russian telegram channels claim that Ukraine was unable to take Martynivka north of Suzhi via the Kursk route.
That is, the main focus of hostilities has now, as already mentioned, shifted to the east and west of the Kursk bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian public associates this with the fact that Moscow has introduced the main reserves to the north - to cover the Kurchatov NPP and Kursk itself. While the border areas remain more vulnerable to Ukrainian strikes.
However, even there, the advancement of the Armed Forces is not as easy as in the first days of the offensive, and settlements often change hands.
The Russians are introducing additional reserves into the battle, both conscripts and combat units from the front, Russian Telegram channels are publishing more and more photos and videos of downed Ukrainian equipment, killed and captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
