The Armed Forces are forced to use decommissioned shells

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are forced to use decommissioned shells in artillery operations due to a lack of weapons, The Telegraph reports. According to the publication, artillery soldiers receive shells that were intended for disposal even before February 2022.

"In battle with scrap metal for advantage", - this is the title of the article in The Telegraph reports. The publication reports on this with reference to the notification of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense assures that artillery shells and ammunition for small arms, which were decommissioned in the past, "pass a thorough quality check before being sent to the front."

"We understand that today on the battlefield, every shot, missile and ammunition is of vital importance,"
- explains the decision of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Yuriy Dzhigyr.

Amid this message, Kyiv is again asking its Western allies to "provide it with more weapons and ammunition to strengthen its defense line after long delays and shortages that have allowed Russian forces to advance in the east."
