The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) announced the downing of a Russian Su-57 fighter jet on the territory of the Akhtubinsk airfield in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation.
The incident occurred on June 8, 2024 and is confirmed by satellite images that show traces of explosions and fire in the parking lot of the plane.
"The pictures show that on June 7, the Su-57 was standing intact, and on the eighth, there were ruptures from the explosion and characteristic spots of a fire that arose as a result of fire damage near it," the report says.
In the picture, you can see a trace, presumably from the arrival not far from the plane. It is not visible on the satellite images how damaged it is.
The Su-57 is the most modern fighter in service with the Russian Federation.
We will remind you that yesterday the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the downing of drones over the Astrakhan region. Russian sources did not confirm that the plane was damaged.
