The Ukrainian Defense Forces won another victory, liberating the village of Novomlynsk in the Kupyan district of the Kharkiv region. This became an important step in stabilizing the right bank of the Oskil River, where the Russian invaders tried to gain a foothold.
According to the data of the General Staff and the DeepState , the enemy made an attempt to seize the bridgehead on the right bank of Oskol by throwing troops across the river from the village of Dvorichne. Under the cover of artillery, the occupiers took up positions, but the forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully counterattacked.
According to the command of the "Khortytsia" OSUV, the operation included the interaction of infantry, artillery and drone units. The 8th separate assault battalion of the 10th mountain assault brigade "Edelweiss" played a key role in clearing the area, destroying the remnants of enemy forces.
"The right bank of Oskol is under the control of the Defense Forces. Ukrainian flags are flying over Novomlynsk," the message reads.
Analysts note that the Russian operation was aimed at creating a bridgehead for a further offensive. However, thanks to the concerted actions of the Ukrainian military, this plan failed.
Earlier, on November 25, the occupiers unexpectedly crossed Oskil on boats. DeepState experts assessed this operation as a tactical risk that initially allowed the enemy to take positions. However, within a few days, the Armed Forces regained control over the territory.
