In the capital, law enforcement officers have exposed and detained a 60-year-old native of Cherkasy region who was attacking women in secluded places. He has already been reported suspicious.
According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a suspect tracked down a 26-year-old woman in the Lukyanivskyi cemetery. He knocked her to the ground, tried to undress her, and, threatening her with a clerical knife, took her jewelry and money. Hearing that the victim was pregnant, the man ran away.
In addition, the investigation established his involvement in another attack in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv. There, he attacked a 20-year-old girl who was returning from work. The attacker put a knife to her neck, forced her to go to a deserted place, where he raped her, and then took her money and jewelry.
The detainee faces up to 15 years in prison.
The prosecutor's office recalled that in 2014, this man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for murder for selfish motives, robbery, and assault. However, in July 2025, he was released early due to reaching retirement age.
