The Central District Court of Mykolaiv sentenced a 34-year-old local resident, who was accused of robbery at a pharmacy under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the court, in late November 2024, a woman entered a pharmacy on Central Avenue and asked the pharmacist's assistant to change money. After that, she sprayed an irritant substance from a gas canister in the employee's face, went to the cash register, took about 6.5 thousand hryvnias and left the establishment. During the escape, a scuffle broke out between the attacker and the pharmacist, as a result of which she lost her bag and mobile phone.
The woman admitted her guilt, explaining that she was in a difficult life situation and needed to pay rent. She compensated the victim for the damage and sincerely repented of her actions.
The court, taking into account the difficult life circumstances, sincere repentance and compensation for damages, applied Article 69 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed a sentence lower than the minimum limit provided for by the sanction of Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code. The woman was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison.
