The cost of electricity worries many Ukrainians, because for many families, utility bills make up a significant part of monthly expenses.
Currently, household consumers pay 4.32 hryvnias for each kilowatt-hour. For those who want to reduce their bills, two-zone and three-zone meters are available. They allow you to pay significantly less at night: with a two-zone meter, electricity costs 2.16 hryvnias per kWh after 11:00 p.m., and with a three-zone meter, it costs 1.73 hryvnias. At the same time, during peak hours (from 8 to 11 a.m. and from 8 to 10 p.m.), the tariff increases to 6.48 hryvnias.
In addition, the amount of payments may be affected by benefits. Disabled people, combatants, pensioners in villages and large families can receive discounts from 25% to 100%. For example, in families with three or more children, electricity costs can be halved if the income per family member is less than 4,240 hryvnias.
The Ministry of Energy assured UNIAN that the government currently does not plan to increase the tariff for the population. The current prices will remain at least until the end of October. The agency emphasizes: in difficult conditions of war and economic crisis, the main task is to avoid a sharp increase in the financial burden on Ukrainians.
At the same time, the media predict that over the next three years, electricity prices will still increase by approximately 15% each year. In particular, in 2026, the tariff may increase to 4.75–5.18 UAH per kWh, in 2027 — to 5.22–6.2 UAH, and in 2028 — to 5.7–7.44 UAH. There is no official confirmation of these figures yet, so Ukrainians should focus on the current tariffs.
