The deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council served fictitiously in the army and received money for it

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a scheme under which the deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council illegally received the status of a serviceman to increase his authority among voters and receive financial support.

According to the investigation, in 2023 the deputy decided to "improve the political image" due to the fictitious passage of service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She successfully passed the Military Medical Commission and was sent to the training center, where she was officially awarded the title of "Soldier".

However, there was no real training. According to investigators, the implementation of "paper service" was made possible by conspiracy with her acquaintance - the deputy commander of one of the military units. It was he who appealed to the head of the training center with a request to bring the deputy to the official lists of servicemen, although she did not actually undergo training.

In this way, the woman not only received a fictitious service experience, but also over UAH 200,000 from the state budget, which she spent on her own needs.

The DBR qualifies the actions of the suspect as abuse of office in conspiracy with servicemen. The investigation is currently underway, details are being studied, and other possible cases of such fictitious "services" are being checked.
