Eating without cooking: the world has been captured by the "street cat" diet

An unusual approach to nutrition is gaining popularity around the world: the “street cat” diet. Its essence is to consume small portions of simple and minimally processed food.

According to Vogue, this eating style emphasizes fish protein and small plates, making it not only healthy but also convenient for everyday life.

What is included in the diet?

The basis of the diet is:

  • canned fatty fish (sardines, mackerel, salmon), as well as fish-based sushi;

  • pickled vegetables (gherkins, sauerkraut);

  • berries, including blueberries;

  • fermented dairy products (yogurt, kefir);

  • leafy greens;

  • whole grain crackers, especially buckwheat.

Benefits for the skin and body

Registered dietitian Stephanie De Chillaz notes that many of these foods have anti-inflammatory properties and help support a healthy skin barrier. Fish provides omega-3 fatty acids, berries are rich in antioxidants, and fermented foods support gut microbiota.

Although studies confirm the connection between nutrition and skin condition, experts emphasize that the body's reaction may be individual, so changes in diet should be introduced gradually.

A new approach to healthy eating

The "street cat" diet combines simplicity and functionality. It can be an alternative to traditional diets, as it focuses not on restrictions, but on variety and small, balanced portions.
