The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has decided to introduce new financial coefficients for medical workers performing duties in dangerous conditions. This will significantly increase their income and strengthen the ability of the healthcare system to respond to the challenges of war. This is reported by the Judicial and Legal Newspaper.
Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said that the basic salary for doctors is planned to be increased to 30,000 hryvnias. Additional allowances have been introduced for those working in high-risk areas.
In particular, for emergency medical teams that travel to combat zones or high-threat regions, the coefficient was increased to 6. This means that, for example, the Chernihiv Emergency Center will receive about 9 million hryvnias in addition every month.
New hazard ratios
-
Territories with possible hostilities: the coefficient increased from 1.1 to 1.48.
-
Active combat zones: the coefficient was raised from 1.26 to 6.01.
Thus, doctors who risk their lives every day will receive significantly higher compensation for their work.
According to Lyashko, the new system of financial incentives not only motivates medical workers, but also strengthens the financial sustainability of emergency and disaster medicine centers. This, in turn, will allow for a faster response to the challenges of war and guarantee high-quality medical care even in the most difficult conditions.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that such a decision should ensure the stable work of emergency teams, which are often the first to save lives on the front line and in front-line communities.
