Ukraine will receive from the Franco-German group KNDS a significant batch of Caesar self-propelled artillery installations. French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed this on Twitter (X), noting that the contract for the supply of 12 Caesar self-propelled guns was signed during an industrial forum in Kyiv.
Financing of supplies will be carried out at the expense of Ukraine, which indicates the active participation of the Ukrainian side in strengthening its own defense capabilities. Lecornu emphasized that this agreement is part of efforts to increase France's defense capabilities and support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
We will remind that in January 2024, France formed an artillery coalition to support Ukraine, which included twenty-five countries, including Belgium. They agreed to deliver 72 more Caesar installations, in addition to the six already delivered to Ukraine.
Earlier, KNDS announced the creation of a branch in Ukraine to support the local defense industry. At the moment, it is not known how many Caesar self-propelled artillery installations are already in Ukraine. However, as of April 2024, it became known that the Ukrainian side lost less than 10% of Caesar self-propelled guns due to their high mobility.
