New rules for reserving workers for military service will come into effect in Ukraine on December 1, 2024. The reservation process will be transferred to an electronic format through the state application “Diya”, which will simplify the procedure and allow for more efficient booking. However, the new rules have certain requirements that must be met in order to obtain the status of a reserved person.
Basic booking conditions:
- Being on military registration - in order to be registered, an employee must be recognized as liable for military service.
- Employment relationship with a critical enterprise - the enterprise must be defined as critical, providing important functions for the economy or security of the country.
- Salary level of at least 20,000 UAH - an employee must receive a salary of at least 20 thousand UAH.
- Updating military registration data - the employee must update his data in the registers and make sure that he is not wanted.
Important terms:
- Reservations valid on November 23, 2024 will remain valid until February 28, 2025. After this date, these reservations will be canceled unless the business renews the reservation through “Diya”.
- Critical enterprises must meet two main requirements: an average employee salary of at least UAH 20,000 and no debts to the state and local budgets.
Limitations on the number of bookings:
Under the new rules, companies can reserve no more than 50% of their military-liable employees. If a company wishes to reserve more than half, this must be approved by a separate decision of the Minister of Defense.
