In Chernivtsi, a coffee shop "cut off" traffic lights due to improper connection

In Chernivtsi, a coffee shop on Nezalezhnosti Avenue was reconnected to the general power supply network after it was accidentally connected to the uninterruptible power supply for traffic lights. This was reported by the head of the municipal enterprise MiskSHEP Vitaliy Desnega.

Earlier, journalists from the local media outlet ACC noticed that during blackouts, when a coffee shop employee was starting the coffee machine, the traffic lights at the intersection went out. According to Desnega, the error occurred due to confusion by the REM when connecting to the electrical networks.

"For the second time, the REM team mistakenly connected a coffee shop to our network, which continuously powers traffic lights during power outages. We were informed about this by journalists on November 12," the head of the MiskSHEP noted.

The next day, November 13, the company's specialists reconnected the coffee shop to the general network. They also wrote an official report to the Chernivtsi city REM and sent it to Chernivtsioblenergo to eliminate similar cases in the future.
