In Ukraine, clocks are traditionally changed twice a year: in the spring to summer time and in the fall to winter time. In 2025, the transition to winter time will take place on the last Sunday of October, the 26th. The clocks will be moved back one hour at 4:00 a.m., to 3:00 a.m., which will give Ukrainians an extra hour of sleep.
After the clock change, the evenings will become shorter and it will get dark earlier. Experts advise to be especially careful on the road and plan to be outside during daylight hours.
Modern smartphones, computers, and other devices connected to the Internet adjust the time automatically. Owners of mechanical watches or older gadgets will have to manually adjust the hands.
Legislative changes make this transition the last. In July 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No. 4201, according to which, after the transition to winter time in October 2025, the subsequent transition to summer time is canceled. From now on, winter time will become permanent for Ukrainians, and the clocks will no longer be switched in the spring.
Thus, from 2025, Ukraine will remain in the winter time zone on a permanent basis, and the traditional clock "jumps" in March will finally cease.
