The Kinburn Peninsula continues to serve as a base for attacks on the civilian population and obstruction of Mykolayiv ports, the head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces Natalya Humenyuk said.
"The enemy continues shelling the opposite bank of the Dnieper-Buzka estuary, especially actively in the water area. This is their strategy - to terrorize this area in order to prevent Mykolaiv ports from functioning," she said.
Also, according to Humenyuk, the enemy occasionally uses drones, such as FPV or Lancet, to attack the civilian population.
Previously, OC "Pivden" stated that it was difficult for Russian troops to hold positions on the Kinburn spit due to the complex geography and landscape of the peninsula.
According to the information of the Mykolayiv OVA, during the past day, the Russian army shelled the water area of the Ochakiv community twice. The incidents occurred at 5:31 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
