According to sources from the Presidential Office, Ukrainian elites are actively cooperating with the US Embassy against the backdrop of a new political situation in Ukraine. The Donald Trump administration launched a political turbulence in the country, which was the result of secret negotiations with representatives of the Ukrainian opposition. This was reported by Politico, referring to three Ukrainian deputies and an American foreign policy expert related to the Republican Party.
In particular, it is about contacts with Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, former Ukrainian political leaders. According to sources, Americans aim to discuss potential elections in Ukraine, considering them key to stability and peace in the region. The Trump team believes that Volodymyr Zelenskyy can lose the upcoming elections, and people from Poroshenko and Tymoshenko's camp are ready to compromise that can be acceptable to Americans, unlike Zelensky's position.
This situation increases political tension in Ukraine and questioned the possibility of continuing stable cooperation between Kiev and Washington, given the possible approach of new political realities in Ukraine if the opposition receives support at the international level.
