Oleksandr Marikovsky, a deputy from the Servant of the People party, who heads the Mediateka company, continues to receive significant funds from the state budget for providing media monitoring services and sociological research. The customer is the state-owned enterprise Center for the Protection of the Information Space of Ukraine, which transfers about a million hryvnias to the company every month.
Despite a number of scandals and suspicions of unjustified price increases, cooperation between the state enterprise and Mediateka continues. In 2025, the cost of the company's key products jumped almost threefold. The thematic media monitoring report rose in price from 19 to 60 thousand hryvnias, and sociological research from 120 to 450 thousand hryvnias. At the same time, the scope of work was formally expanded by additional contracts, but their content does not explain the significant price increase. The number of reports and staff remained unchanged, and the software was also not updated.
The MP's lifestyle is of particular interest. Last year, he purchased a house in a prestigious cottage town near Kyiv, where prices start at 16.7 million hryvnias. Marikovsky's official income raises questions, especially given his company's lucrative government contracts.
The reports produced by Mediateka often contain subjective assessments that affect the reputation of high-ranking officials and can shape political decisions. Despite criticism, the state-owned enterprise does not change the contractor and continues to conclude agreements with him.
Experts point to the need to audit these purchases to determine whether the price increase is justified and whether the services received by the state correspond to the funds spent.
