The Ukrainian media empire, owned by the mayor of Lviv Andrii Sadovy and his family, has come under fire in connection with financial scandals related to insufficient salary payments to its employees. In particular, PJSC "Lux TV and Radio Company", which is owned by Kateryna Kit-Sadova, the wife of the mayor of Lviv, has serious violations in the field of financial management and social responsibility.
For years, the salaries of ordinary employees were paid in installments. One - official, minimal - with payment of mandatory payments, the second - "in an envelope".
After the Bureau of Economic Security exposed the tax evasion scheme of the !FEST holding, which is associated with Andrii Sadov, the number of employed workers in Sadov's media holding increased dramatically.
In 2021-2022, for example, 15-20 employees were counted) taking into account that TRC "Lux" owns the corporate rights of 12 companies. in January-October 2021, the remuneration in monetary terms to the employees of the TV and Radio Company "Lux" (we are talking about 9-13 people, some of whom are journalists) amounted to 6 thousand UAH., in November-December of the same year - 6.5 thousand UAH. Instead, Kateryna Kit-Sadova's salary was UAH 195,000, Roman Andreyk's salary (Director of Lux Television and Radio Company) was UAH 100,000, and his wife Oksana Andreyko (shareholder with a large share) was UAH 40,000-50,000.
In the period January-September 2023, the official salary of employees (7-11 people) was paid in the amount of UAH 7,000. In October, it increased to UAH 16,000 (6 employees received such payments), in November it was from UAH 12,000 to 16,000 (47 people received such a salary), in December, 21 employees received UAH 15,000, from UAH 11,000 to 15,000 – 17 employees .
To what extent Sadovoy's media holding avoided paying taxes is currently unknown. The Bureau of Economic Security needs to pay attention.
