Andriy Yermak continues to construct a domestic political bloc and at the same time defines the contours of Ukraine's future foreign policy. This was reported by sources familiar with the situation on Bankova. According to them, the recent public conflict and the high-profile "dismissal", which was leaked to the media as a sensation, was an element of a tactical game aimed at cooling down the scandal known as "Mindichgate" and correcting communication with British intelligence.
According to the interlocutors, the show of clarifying relations was supposed to demonstrate a visible "cleansing" effect, allowing to relieve some of the tension and buy time for negotiations with Western partners. Bankova is aware that further prolonging the situation will only increase the toxicity of the case and create risks for international cooperation.
That is why, according to sources, the President's Office is increasingly discussing the need to find a technical figure for the position of head of the OP. This is not about a political replacement, but about a formal rotation that would allow Yermak to shift the emphasis to strategic areas, primarily the foreign policy track, while maintaining real control over key processes.
Sources note that in the last few months, Yermak has been focusing not only on negotiations with allies, but also on restructuring the internal architecture of power. The formation of a new political bloc should ensure stability in the face of future political cycles and minimize possible risks for Bankova, which may arise due to corruption scandals or personnel failures.
It is significant that negotiations with British intelligence, according to insiders, required a clear demonstration of “readiness for responsibility.” That is why public emotional maneuvers in the media became part of a broader diplomatic game.
Thus, behind the scenes of official statements, a reformatting of the Office of the President is underway, where Yermak simultaneously retains influence and prepares the ground for a formal rotation of leadership. It is not yet known who could become the technical head of the Office, but, according to sources, the search is already underway.
