It is important for all men abroad to have information about updates on obtaining consular services at the TCC. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the provision of consular services to men of conscription age has been temporarily suspended. However, after the mobilization law comes into force, they will be able to obtain the necessary documents. This information is published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since April 24, Ukrainian diplomats have temporarily suspended applications for consular assistance for men aged 18 to 60. As for consular services currently permitted, this includes the processing of documents required to return to Ukraine.
According to the clarification, the suspension of consular services is a temporary measure necessary to resolve issues regarding the military registration of men of mobilization age.
The ministry adds that diplomatic missions will fully consider and process applications submitted by April 23. The restriction was introduced due to the possible exceeding of the deadline for consideration of applications before the entry into force of the relevant law.
"We are trying to protect citizens from situations where the provision of services is not possible," the department emphasizes.
After May 18, men of conscription age who have updated their military registration data at the TCC will again have access to consular services. The mechanism for updating personal data for men who are abroad is currently being developed.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, reacted to the information about the termination of services to conscript men. He emphasized that staying abroad does not release a citizen from his duties to the Motherland and reminded of the need to update personal data in the TCC before the adoption of new mobilization legislation.
