Two residents of the Sumy community were admitted to the hospital with kazen bites. Incidents have occurred due to accidental contact with these animals: one case occurred when a man came across a cauldron in his shoe, and another when a teenager tried to chase a flock of bats off a balcony.
Both victims are undergoing a course of anti-rabies treatment, it was reported on Friday at the Sumy Mineskrade.
Two residents of the Sumy community were bitten by bats. One of the residents was bitten by a bat that hid in shoes that were drying on the balcony. The man received an infected wound on his left hand. A teenager who tried to chase away a flock of bats from a balcony was also bitten by a bat. As a result, one of the mammals bit the child's hand
After going to the hospital, the man was prescribed a course of anti-rabies vaccinations. The boy is also currently undergoing anti-rabies treatment.
Doctors of the Sumy Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention warn that a bat bite can be dangerous to health, so you should immediately contact a traumatologist or surgeon to treat the wound and prescribe a course of treatment.
