The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi received unlimited powers to make personnel changes in the army. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated this in an evening address on Saturday, March 2.
According to Zelenskyi, he is in daily contact with partners regarding the provision of necessary assistance to Ukraine and constantly receives reports from the military.
"Every day, the head and commanders are on the front line, where it is needed. The chief commissar has full power regarding personnel changes in the army, and the staff has no restrictions," he said. The President stressed that all Ukrainian commanders should understand and "feel" the real needs on the front line and "be close" to the soldiers and sergeants. "At the beginning of next week, after the return of Colonel-General Syrskyi from the front line, I expect him with a detailed report and specific proposals for further actions," Zelenskyy added.
On March 2, Sirskyi announced personnel changes among brigade commanders who do not correspond to the situation and whose actions pose a threat to personnel. He said that he continues to work on the Eastern Front, where he conducts audits in military units.
