The new head of the Odessa district administration has a criminal case for UAH 27 million

In Odessa, another staffing scandal: Maryna Lozovenko became the head of one of the district administrations, which is a person involved in the criminal case for theft of 27 million hryvnias for the reconstruction of Cathedral Square in Nikolaev. Despite the lawsuit, the official not only did not lose her career prospects, but also received a high position.

According to the Telegram-channel “Operator”, the appointment of Lozovenko is not a chance. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov seems to continue the policy of distribution of positions among "proven" persons who have experience in budget schemes.

A similar scheme of career growth was used by the predecessor of Lozovenko - Sushkov, which also left the construction business and received a high position in the city government.

Lozovenko's trial is ongoing, but this did not prevent her from starting work in a new office. This only confirms the tendency where honesty and professionalism are not a priority criteria in the selection of officials. In Odessa, it seems that the main thing is the ability to "learn" budget funds and be "your own" in the right circles.

Earlier, similar cases were reported with officials who are appointed to positions, despite criminal cases or corruption scandals. Such a personnel policy of the city authorities raises serious questions about the integrity of appointments and fight against corruption.
