Education during the war: teenagers in Ukraine are two years behind

In the conditions of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the level of knowledge of teenagers is at least two years behind the required standard. Such an alarming statement was made by the Deputy Minister of Education, Nadiya Kuzmichova, emphasizing the seriousness of the consequences that the conflict has on the educational process.

"Educational losses not only affect the individual development of the child - they can in the long run hold back the economic and social progress of the entire country. The World Bank predicts that these students will collectively lose billions of dollars in income over their lifetime due to educational losses. This is a real threat to our human capital and the development of the entire country," Kuzmichova said.

She said that the Ministry of Education is developing a strategy to return children to full-time education to compensate for these losses.

We will remind you that this year alone, 300,000 schoolchildren left Ukraine on the eve of the start of school.
