Famous Ukrainian restaurateur Misha Katsurin received a fine of 48,000 hryvnias for violating hygiene requirements at his restaurant “Chinese Greetings” in Lviv, where a mass poisoning occurred about a month ago. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Service for the Food and Consumer Protection in Lviv region.
According to the agency, the inspection of the establishment revealed significant violations of the rules for the production and circulation of food products. The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection emphasized that compliance with sanitary standards is mandatory, and the fine was imposed in accordance with current legislation.
Recall, on July 16, the day of the opening of a new restaurant in Lviv, Katsurin reported that not only visitors but also he himself had been poisoned. Later, it became known that more than 100 people were hospitalized with a diagnosis of salmonellosis.
Despite the incident, Katsurin recently announced the reopening of the establishment. According to him, before resuming work, the restaurant underwent inspections and was also blessed by a priest. “Standards are standards, and without a blessing, things will not work out,” the restaurateur commented.
The incident with "Chinese Greetings" caused a wide resonance on social networks and among Lviv residents, and the story became an example of how the reputational and financial consequences for the restaurant business can be instant after violations of sanitary standards.
