The Commercial Court of Kyiv Region ruled to recover UAH 3,334,677.60 from the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” in favor of the Tashansk Village Council of the Boryspil District for damage caused by illegal felling of trees in the territory of the protected park.
As the prosecutor's office established, in January 2024, 25 trees were cut down in the Tashanskyi park-monument of landscape art, including 13 birch trees and 10 alder trees. The land plot was in permanent use by the Forests of Ukraine.
The court concluded that the company, being a permanent forest user, failed to ensure proper protection of the protected area, thereby allowing the destruction of green spaces.
In addition to compensation for damages, “Forests of Ukraine” is obliged to pay 50 thousand UAH of court fees in favor of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The decision was published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions. №129087866.
