According to journalists, in November 2023, almost immediately after his dismissal, Krytsina's daughter became the owner of a new Toyota Camry Hybrid, the price of which starts at 34.5 thousand dollars. In February 2024, she was also given an apartment with an area of 83 square meters in the prestigious residential complex "French Quarter" in the capital, as well as a parking space.
Journalists emphasized that the daughter of the ex-official does not have her own business and is not a registered entrepreneur. Despite the fact that this property is registered in her name, witnesses systematically saw Eduard Krytsyn next to the residential complex. In addition, he was often seen driving a car that was also registered to his daughter.
Eduard Kritsyn, answering journalists' questions about real estate, denied the fact of living in the apartment and said that he was visiting friends there. He admitted that he helped his daughter buy an apartment. Regarding the origin of funds for the purchase of real estate, Krytsyn noted that it was mostly due to his wife's earnings, profit from the sale of family cars and a loan in the amount of 100,000 dollars.
Eduard Krytsyn, the former director of Ukrzaliznytsia, was at the center of a scandal during his working period, from which he left in September 2023 after the end of his contract. Last May, he was searched by representatives of the SAP and NABU, who seized $17,450 and mobile phones from him. These actions were part of the criminal proceedings regarding the illegal possession of Ukrzaliznytsia funds.
Despite the conducted searches, Kritsyn was not a suspect in the case. Later, the suspicion was handed over to Artem Shilo, a former adviser to the President's Office and a former employee of the SBU, accused of fraud with purchases. It is worth noting that in the past Eduard Kritsyn also worked in the SBU, and his wife and eldest daughter were business partners of Artem Shilo's wife, Iryna, in the "Alfa-Omega" Accounting Center.
During the two years of the war, the head of the Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Defense became richer by almost 14 million hryvnias. He bought two apartments in new buildings in the capital region, premium cars, a garage and a parking space. To avoid public liability, the assets were registered to his common-law wife, but he retained control over them through a power of attorney.
The Security Service of Ukraine revealed the scheme of illegal enrichment. After collecting all the evidence, he was charged under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment) and Part 1 of Article 366-2 (declaration of false information). He faces up to 10 years in prison for these crimes.
