In Kryvyi Rih, unknown assailants sprayed black paint on portraits of fallen soldiers on the wall of a local gymnasium, according to the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast police.
According to law enforcement, vandals damaged memorial portraits of former students of the institution who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war. In addition, the attackers overturned flower pots near the building. According to local Telegram channels, 7 out of 14 memorial plaques were damaged.
The police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism) and are searching for the persons involved in this offense. Law enforcement officers are calling on city residents to provide any information that may help identify the perpetrators.
This is not the first case of acts of vandalism in Kryvyi Rih related to the memory of fallen soldiers, and such actions cause outrage among local residents and the public.
