Law enforcement officers reported a large -scale corruption scheme in the state -owned enterprise "Document", which provides passport and other administrative services. The Center for Investigation includes eight former and current officials, who, according to the investigation, organized a mechanism for the systematic theft of budget funds between 2022 and 2023.
According to investigators, the persons involved in the case numbered double payment to the employees of the central office, sent to one of the branches of the enterprise in the country of the European Union. Some of the accrued salaries were forced to return the organizers of the scheme to the organizers - as a "rollback" for their business trip. In this way, the attackers were able to appropriate over UAH 21 million.
Investigative actions are ongoing at this point. The defendants are charged with state funds and the organization of a criminal group. If the blame is proved in court, each of them threatens up to 8 years in prison.
The National Police emphasize that in wartime such offenses not only undermine confidence in state institutions, but also harm the reputation of Ukraine in the eyes of international partners.
