Recently appointed Chief Prosecutor of Odessa Region Andriy Svatok may become Deputy Prosecutor General

As our sources report, the recently appointed head of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office, Andriy Svatok, may become one of the deputies of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

“Andriy Svatok worked closely with the current Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko when he headed the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. Now Kravchenko wants to take him to the Prosecutor General’s Office as a deputy, as he considers Svatok his man, and to avoid escalation with the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleh Kiper,” the source reports.

As a reminder, prosecutor Andriy Svatok is involved in a number of corruption scandals, including those involving special services.

In particular, Andriy Svatok fell into the field of investigative journalists because of the data in his declaration, which reflects the luxurious life of the prosecutor's family: Svatok owns an apartment in Kyiv for 2.5 million, and his wife owns another apartment for 1.5 million and two parking spaces.

Also, the wife of prosecutor Andriy Svatok owns a plot of land in the Kyiv region, on which, according to the declaration, the couple is building an estate.

Prosecutor Svatka's wife also has a jewelry collection: two Rolex watches, a set of jewelry from the Graff brand, and a set from Tiffany.

The couple has three cars. They keep over $300,000 and 800,000 hryvnias in cash for two of them.

Regarding the corruption scandals involving Andriy Svatko, one of his positions: head of the Department of Supervision in Criminal Proceedings of the Prosecutor's Office of the Mykolaiv Region - was received as a "kickback" to his father - Prosecutor Heorhiy Svatko.

Thus, journalists from the publication "Resonance" published a rather interesting story about how Andriy Svatko received the position of Head of the Department of Supervision in Criminal Proceedings of the Prosecutor's Office of the Mykolaiv Region in 2016.

According to the publication, SBU officers established that the head of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Taras Dunas, was taking bribes. In order to catch him red-handed, the informants were going to organize the transfer of a controlled bribe.

It was necessary to obtain the sanction of the head of the division of the Prosecutor General's Office, who supervised the observance of laws by the bodies fighting organized crime. At that time, he was Heorhiy Svatok.

He gave such a sanction, after which he warned Dunas to immediately stop his corrupt activities and in no case take money, since this was the SBU's “pretext.” In return for this help, Taras Dunas placed Svatko Jr. in the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
