Against the background of ongoing hostilities in the east of Ukraine, Russian troops continue their attempts to surround the city of Kurakhove, trying to get behind Ukrainian forces. According to the current data of the Deep State map, over the past day, Russian units have advanced in the direction of the northern outskirts of Kurakhovo, in particular, in the area between the settlements of Vyshneve and Voznesenka.
An officer of the ZSU with the call sign Alex writes that the Russians are already attacking Sontsivka here, which is indicated on the DS map as a nearby gray zone. Alex does not know whether they managed to get a foothold.
He also reports that Novooleksiivka has already been captured.
To the south, the Russians have already entered Berestki, on the banks of the Kurakhiv reservoir, reports a fighter with the call sign Muchny. He believes that soon the battles will begin to the east, for the Old Thorns.
"If the defense of Sontsivka and Stary Thorny falls, it can be assumed that all routes to Kurakhov from the north will be cut off. They control all the roads to the north, so currently there is only one safe road south of the river to Zaporozhye," Muchnyi writes.
As the DS map shows, the Russians again advanced in the direction of this route from the south - near Maksimivka.
Experts and the military previously assumed that the Russians were trying to encircle a large sector around Kurakhovo.
