In the Kursk region, the Russian armed forces are actively using drones that have high accuracy of strikes and are able to effectively counter Ukrainian electronic warfare (EW) equipment. This information was announced by the analyst and co-founder of the DeepState project, Ruslan Mykula, on Radio NV, emphasizing the complexity of hostilities in the region.
Uncertainty at the front
Mykula noted that the situation in the Kursk region is characterized by constant fluctuations in hostilities, without a clear front line. Russian forces conduct counterattacks, which, in turn, are responded to by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. "The lane changes several times a day, some landings change hands. In general, the situation is difficult. The defense forces introduced additional reserves in order to restrain the enemy, because he has accumulated significant forces over the past month," the expert noted.
Using FPV drones
One of the disturbing trends is the active use by the enemy of FPV drones, which have proven to be resistant to electronic warfare. Mykula emphasized that these drones have a much higher hit rate than conventional wireless FPV drones. "These are, in fact, ATGMs of a new generation. An FPV drone connected by a twisted pair to the launch point is virtually insensitive to EWs," he explained.
This new tactic of using drones is a cause for concern, as it raises questions about the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defenses and how to counter such new types of weapons.
Lack of solutions to counter
In conclusion, Mykula noted that he is not aware of effective ideas or strategies to combat such drones, which emphasizes the need for new developments and solutions to counter modern threats.
