The Reverend Simeon of the Simennyrets was born in Antioch in a pious Christian family and sought spiritual life from his youth. His mentor was Simeon Column, and he imitated his feat - he lived on a narrow platform on the top of a column in a constant prayer. The place of his feat on the Mountain of Strange gave him the name of the Strange.
Reverend Nikita Pereyaslavsky was a monk of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in the XI century. He settled near Pereyaslav, where he founded the monastery. In the church tradition, he is honored as the patron saint of Pereyaslav, a peacemaker and a spiritual mentor.
