In the case of the unauthorized development of the lands of the State Motor Vehicle Enterprise of the National Academy of Sciences near Akademmistechko, the police proved to be powerless. After more than a year of fruitless investigation by the Sviatoshyn Department of the National Police of Kyiv, the criminal proceedings were transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine. This decision was adopted on August 30, 2024 in connection with the martial law, which allows cases to be transferred to the SBU for investigation.
The developer, which caused damage in the amount of more than 2 million hryvnias, is the company "Navium-2008", which is part of the KSM Group, which is managed by Serhiy Kopystrya. The criminal activity on land owned by the National Academy of Sciences caused a wave of public outrage, as the site's only operational bomb shelter was destroyed during the development process.
According to journalists, in May 2024, investigators have already established the fact of damage of 2.3 million hryvnias. However, for more than a year of pre-trial investigation, the case did not move, and construction work continued. One of the reasons was probably the ineffectiveness of the investigation on the part of the National Police, which led to the transfer of the case to the SBU.
At the construction site, the journalists recorded the security of the State Department of the National Academy of Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences trying to prevent the media. At the same time, the head of the company's security met the journalists with clear hostility. At the same time, according to whistleblowers, a significant number of real estate objects, including luxury apartments and hundreds of hectares of land in various regions of Ukraine, were found among the family of the heads of the National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences.
