The activist and volunteer Sergey Sternenko, who survived the next attempt on May 1, published a photo with the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Mid and promised that the responsible for the attack would not avoid punishment.
In the picture posted on Instagram, Sternenko stands next to the baby, signing the photo with the Latin statement of Fiat Justitia Ruat caelum - "let justice come true, at least the sky."
What happened on May 1
Sternenko was attacked in Kiev. As a result of the attack, he suffered a gunshot wound. Thanks to the operational work of the Security Service of Ukraine, a 45-year-old woman, a native of Odesa region, was detained at the scene, who recently moved to the capital.
The investigation found that the woman was remotely recruited by Russian special services. According to the SBU, she prepared an attack for a long time, studying the routes of movement of the activist and ways to approach him. Its purpose was to physical elimination of Sternenko.
The malefactors were suspected of two articles at once - treason and assassination attempt. On May 2, the court chose a preventive measure for her - detention without bail.
Sternenko believes that Russia stands. In his posts, he stressed that the enemy would not achieve the desired result, and justice will be carried out.
