From now on, you will not be able to pass inspection without video. According to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 286 of March 4, 2025 and by the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 1075 of December 27, 2023, the procedure of mandatory technical control of vehicles will be accompanied by full photo and video fixation.
All technical control points (PTCs) with accreditation must be equipped with at least two cameras. If necessary, the number of cameras will increase. Image quality is regulated: the vehicle should occupy at least 70% of the frame area, be fixed on all sides, as well as with light devices on.
The control over the fulfillment of these requirements is entrusted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers. They will check the video from the inspection, and in case of violation - will cancel the verification protocol. The owner of the car will be informed about it. The results of technical control are recorded in an electronic protocol, which can be verified online on the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
There are now about 800 accredited technical control in Ukraine. They check both private cars and transportation transportation or passengers.
The inspection should be passed:
-
commercial cars (including trailers), which are operated for more than 2 years - every two years;
-
trucks up to 3.5 tons - every two years;
-
trucks more than 3.5 tons, trailers to them, as well as taxi - every year;
-
Buses and transportation transportation twice a year.
Drivers operating a car without a current inspection protocol can receive a fine of UAH 340. If the violation is allowed by the point of control, the entity will pay about 1400 UAH a fine.
The official publication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is expected, after which all these requirements will come into force.
