The acting director of Shepetivska Correctional Colony No. 98 is suspected of bribery. According to the State Bureau of Investigation and the Khmelnytskyi Oblast Prosecutor's Office, the official demanded 10% of the amount of contracts from private entrepreneurs for agreements concluded with the correctional institution.
The investigation established that the official received money for providing advantages to individual entrepreneurs when concluding contracts for work performed by convicts in the colony. The first part of the bribe in the amount of 150 thousand UAH was received in September 2025, and on November 26 he received the rest - 405 thousand UAH and 1,300 dollars. After that, the official was detained.
The suspect was charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving a large bribe by an official in a prior conspiracy). The court chose a preventive measure - detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 499 thousand UAH. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
According to the declarations, Ivan Kucheruk was the acting director of the colony. The corruption scheme was discovered thanks to an entrepreneur who ordered the production of wire inconspicuous barriers worth UAH 6 million.
