According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), a pre-trial investigation has been completed and criminal proceedings against the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Pavlo Kyrylenko, have been sent to court.
According to the investigation, the former head's electronic declaration for 2024 intentionally omitted 20 real estate properties and a BMW X3 car, which were actually used by the official or his relatives, but were registered in the name of his wife's relatives.
According to the investigation, the undeclared property included:
-
six apartments in Kyiv and Uzhhorod;
-
a residential building near Kyiv with an area of over 220 m²;
-
two plots of land;
-
two garage boxes; six parking spaces;
-
three non-residential premises with a total area of over 190 m².
In addition, Kyrylenko's wife (Alla Kyrylenko) is accused of aiding and abetting illicit enrichment, since part of the property was registered specifically in the name of her family's relatives.
It is worth noting that this is not the first criminal proceedings against Kyrylenko: he has previously been suspected of illegal enrichment and submitting false information in declarations for 2020–2023.
The case has already been referred to court - now it will be the subject of a trial that will determine the extent of responsibility for the official and his wife.
The public outcry over this situation underscores public expectations for transparent justice and fair punishment for high-ranking officials who may abuse their positions of power.
