There was a brutal attack in Kiev: a 69-year-old woman who was hiding in an underground passage during air anxiety was a victim of a robbery. The attacker not only seized her bag, but also caused her physical injuries. This was reported by the press service of the capital police.
The incident happened when the pensioner went to shelter, taking with her valuable things and savings. In the subway, she was suddenly attacked by an unknown man who started to beat a woman, after which he pulled a bag of documents, gold jewelry, phone and money in the amount of 44 thousand hryvnias. After committing the crime, the attacker disappeared from the scene.
“The police received a challenge and immediately started the investigation. Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement officers, the attacker managed to establish quickly, ”the police said.
The suspect was detained shortly after the crime. He was a 28-year-old man who had previously served his sentence for similar crimes. He seized some of the stolen money and gold jewelry of the victim.
Criminal proceedings were opened after the robbery committed in martial law. The detainee was reported suspicion, and now he is threatened with up to 10 years in prison.
This incident is a reminder of the need for vigilance even in places that seem safe. Police urge citizens to report suspicious persons in public, especially during air anxiety, when attackers can use common panic and defenseless people to commit crimes.

Law enforcement officers reported that the detainee is already in custody and the investigation is ongoing. The return of all the stolen items and money of the victim remains in question, but the police are doing everything possible to bring the offender to justice.
