Ukraine leads the world mortality rate and has the lowest birth rate in the world

Ukraine is currently facing serious demographic challenges: the country has the highest death rate and the lowest birth rate on the planet.

This was stated by Victoria Wagner, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health.

According to the data of the Ministry of Justice, referred to by the People's Deputy, in 2024, from January to June inclusive, 87,655 people were born in the country, and 250,972 died.

That is, this year the death rate in Ukraine is almost three times higher than the birth rate. At the same time, in 2018-20, this indicator was at the level of 2:1.

It will be recalled that Trump previously stated that Ukraine's losses in the war amount to 400,000 people.
