Ukraine concluded agreements on security cooperation with Italy and Canada. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau signed these documents during their visit to Ukraine.
The agreement with Canada provides for the allocation in 2024 of more than 3 billion Canadian dollars for macro-financial and defense assistance. As for the agreement with Italy, it provides for the continuation of support to Ukraine until the end of 2024. In addition, during the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Italy, joint work at the G7 level was discussed.
This visit took place on the second anniversary of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Kyiv. In addition to Maloney and Trudeau, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, also arrived in Ukraine.
The head of the European Commission confirmed that Europe will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the necessary volumes.
