General Director of the Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Defense Industry" Herman Smetanin reported that the volume of production of military equipment in Ukraine has tripled, and in some directions - even tenfold.
"Thanks to the efforts of our enterprises, the volume of production of military equipment has tripled. For this year, we have no less ambitious plans - to increase production with the same dynamics. In some directions - even ten times, in others - less, depending on the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he explained.
Smetanin also noted that enterprises of the defense-industrial complex are increasingly moving to the production of ammunition of NATO calibers. "Ukraine has significantly increased the production of ammunition - this is the main nomenclature expected by the front. "Enterprises are not only setting up and scaling up serial production of artillery shells and mortar mines of Soviet caliber, but are also gradually moving to the production of ammunition of NATO caliber - 60-mm mortar mines," the official added.
He also cited an example of the successful use of air defense systems developed as part of the Ukrainian-American project called FrankenSAM. According to him, an Iranian kamikaze drone Shahed was shot down from a distance of 9 kilometers.
